Pyro: A disturbed individual wearing a gas mask and a fire-retardant suit. Defense Classes

Spy: A suave, chain-smoking French covert operative. The Spy is the ultimate disruptor. World Building

The Mercenaries

The nine playable classes are not standard soldiers; they are professional mercenaries hired by both sides to fight in this fabricated war. Over the course of the comic series, their distinct, often tragic, and entirely hilarious backstories are explored. The Heavy, for instance, fought to protect his family from the Soviet government. The Demoman lost his original job to a robot and is haunted by a cursed eye. The Scout's mother is romantically involved with the Spy.
