Tier List Overview

In Lost Ark, the endgame PvE meta revolves around Legion Raids. These raids demand a delicate balance of staggering (breaking enemy armor), synergies (damage buffs and debuffs), and raw damage output (DPS). Because of this trinity, ranking classes simply by their raw numbers is a mistake. A class that does 10% less damage but provides a 16% damage amp to the rest of the party is infinitely more valuable to a coordinated group than a selfish DPS class.

This tier list ranks the best classes in Lost Ark specifically for endgame Legion Raids (Brelshaza, Kakul-Saydon, Abrelshud, and Kayangel). The rankings are based on a combination of maximum theoretical DPS (with Level 3 Set bonuses), utility, ease of execution in real-world ping and latency environments, and party desirability. Whether you are building a static group or trying to get accepted into matchmaking lobbies, understanding where your class stands in the current meta is vital for efficient raiding.

S Tier

S Tier classes are the undisputed kings and queens of Arkesia. These classes define the meta. They either bring unparalleled utility that multiplies the damage of the entire party, or they feature such overwhelmingly high damage ceilings and forgiving kit designs that they excel in virtually any scenario. If you are looking for the most efficient classes to main or push into high item levels, you cannot go wrong here.

  • Artist (Spec/Speed)

Artist is the absolute best Support class in the game, effectively making traditional Bards feel obsolete in high-end raiding. While Bard's identity gauge requires careful management and timing, Artist generates their Identity gauge simply by using their basic skills (Moonfall and Sunrise). This allows Artist to output massive, consistent healing and shielding while simultaneously providing the highest damage amplification in the game. Their Hyper Awakening provides an immense burst window that trivializes many DPS check phases. An Artist guarantees raid slots and makes the lives of every DPS player significantly easier.

  • Sorceress (Igniter)

Igniter Sorceress is the gold standard for burst DPS. While she lacks significant party synergy, her personal damage output during her Ignition window is second to none. With the recent balance patches that improved her Esoteric skill damage multiplier and reduced the cast time of her core skills, Igniter feels incredibly smooth. She pairs perfectly with Supports who can easily stack Identity (like Artist or Bard) to guarantee her massive burst windows land cleanly on stagger checks or stationary bosses. If you want to see the biggest yellow numbers on the screen, Igniter is the pinnacle.

  • Gunlancer (Red)

Red Gunlancer underwent massive reworks that transformed him from a clunky, one-dimensional class into a fluid, high-octane DPS machine with built-in survival tools. His shotgun skills now reset cooldowns dynamically, creating an engaging and highly damaging loop. More importantly, Gunlancer brings Battle Cry (an Attack Speed and Movement Speed buff) and Nellasia's Energy (a Damage Reduction shield), making him incredibly tanky while providing just enough utility to be a massive asset to any party. He is the ultimate "selfish" DPS that still brings tools everyone appreciates.

  • Arcanist (Emperor)

Emperor Arcanist is a masterclass in risk-versus-reward. By stacking cards to enter Emperor mode, she gains access to an entirely new set of devastating skills. The recent patch that made it easier to maintain Emperor stacks elevated her from a high-skill-cap niche pick to an S Tier menace. She brings a reliable Attack Power synergy and benefits massively from the current heavy-identity Support meta, allowing her to stay in Emperor form for extended periods of time and output damage that rivals Igniter Sorceress.

A Tier

A Tier classes are exceptionally strong, reliable, and will have absolutely no problem clearing any content in the game. They usually fall just slightly short of S Tier due to minor drawbacks: perhaps their damage is slightly lower, their utility is easily replicated by better options, or their skill ceiling is unforgiving in high-latency situations. These are the workhorses of any raid group.

  • Bard (Despair)

Despair Bard remains an incredible Support, but she has been overshadowed by Artist. Bard requires much more APM (Actions Per Minute) and careful planning to output the same level of shielding and identity generation that Artist achieves passively. However, Bard still holds a unique niche: her Shock Skills provide a reliable source of Electrocute, which is a highly sought-after debuff in certain raid compositions. She is a fantastic class, but you will have to work harder for the same results an Artist provides effortlessly.

  • Striker (Esoteric)

Striker is the premier martial artist for raw, sustained damage. His Esoteric skill tree allows him to maintain incredibly high uptime on his damage buffs. Striker brings a versatile synergy package, offering either Weak Point or Crit Synergy depending on the engraving choices of the party. The only reason Striker is not S Tier is that his kit is highly sensitive to ping. Playing Striker on anything above 50ms can lead to dropped combos and significant DPS loss, making him less universally reliable than a Gunlancer or Sorceress.

  • Glaivier (Control)

Control Glaivier is a synergistic powerhouse. She provides Attack Speed synergy alongside a reliable Weak Point debuff, making her a massive boon to any melee-heavy composition. Her damage is very consistent, and her Focus gauge management is highly forgiving. However, her burst damage pales in comparison to S Tier casters and gunslingers, meaning she relies heavily on her party to carry the overall DPS weight during tight check phases.

  • Deathblade (Surge)

Surge Deathblade has one of the highest single-hit damage skills in the entire game. When built correctly with high Spec and Crit, a single Surge blade can delete a boss's health bar. The recent patches fixed her clunky animation locks, making her much smoother to play. However, Surge is incredibly binary. If you miss your Surge skill, or if the boss moves out of the way, your damage plummets. This inconsistency keeps her out of S Tier, but in the hands of a skilled player, she performs like a god.

  • Summoner (Communication)

Summoner is essentially a sustained-damage version of Sorceress. She provides both Electrocute and Weak Point debuffs while casting from a relatively safe distance. Her Ancient Summoner awakening deals massive damage. She is incredibly easy to play, making her a popular choice. However, her overall DPS ceiling is noticeably lower than Sorceress, placing her firmly in the A Tier.

B Tier

B Tier represents the middle of the pack. These classes are perfectly viable for all current content and will not hold back a competent party. However, they often suffer from specific flaws: clunky scaling, outdated engraving designs, kits that conflict with current raid mechanics, or utility that is overshadowed by A and S tier alternatives. You can definitely main a B Tier class, but you may notice the limitations at the absolute highest ends of gearing.

  • Berserker (Mayhem)

Mayhem Berserker is a classic "boom or bust" class. He trades away his shield and a massive portion of his health pool for drastically increased damage and hyper-armor. While his damage numbers are large, the current raid meta features numerous one-shot mechanics that make the self-inflicted 40% health reduction of Mayhem incredibly dangerous. Furthermore, his lack of any meaningful party synergy makes him a strictly selfish DPS choice in a game that heavily rewards team play.

  • Scouter (Perfect Suppression)

Scouter received a fantastic rework to his drone mechanics, making him much more fluid and fun to play. He brings excellent Defense Reduction synergy, which is always valuable. However, his damage output, despite the rework, is strictly average. He requires high APM to optimize his drone energy levels, yet the reward for doing so does not match the output of an equally skilled Gunlancer or Striker. He is a solid choice, but rarely a standout.

  • Punisher Paladin

Punisher Paladin is a massive outlier in the meta. He possesses one of the highest raw damage ceilings in the entire game—often beating Sorceress in pure spreadsheet DPS. So why is he in B Tier? Because he provides literally zero utility. He brings no buffs, no debuffs, no stagger, and no weak point. To bring a Punisher Paladin, your party must sacrifice a synergy slot and construct the entire rest of the team around compensating for his lack of contribution outside of damage. He is a luxury pick for overgeared statics, not a meta choice.

  • Shadowhunter (Demonic)

Shadowhunter is incredibly mobile, features amazing counter animations, and brings decent Identity generation for supports. However, her Demonic transformation, while visually flashy, has suffered from power creep. The damage of her demon form skills has not scaled well with the massive health pools of newer Legion Raid bosses. She excels in older content but requires significantly higher gear to match the output of A and S tier classes in Brelshaza and beyond.

  • Wardancer (First Intention)

First Intention Wardancer plays similarly to Esoteric Striker but focuses much more heavily on maintaining an elaborate buff sequence. She provides Attack Speed synergy but lacks the raw damage output of Striker. Her rotation is incredibly rigid; if a boss suddenly jumps away or forces a mechanic, her entire sequence can fall apart, leading to a severe loss in DPS. She is viable, but outclassed by her martial artist counterpart.

C Tier

C Tier classes are the underperformers of the current meta. While we must emphasize that no class in Lost Ark is truly unplayable—and with enough skill and gear, any C Tier class can clear any raid—these classes face systemic issues. They usually suffer from terrible engraving designs, abysmal synergy packages, or damage scaling that falls off a cliff at endgame. Playing these classes requires a deep love for their fantasy, as you will be fighting both the boss and your own kit.

  • Deadeye (Enhanced Weapon)

Deadeye is arguably the most ping-reliant class in the entire game. His Enhanced Weapon engraving requires him to swap between shotgun, rifle, and dual-wield stances in rapid succession to maintain his damage buffs. At 0ms ping, this feels incredible. At the 80ms-150ms ping that many Western players experience, the animation buffering breaks, turning a fluid DPS machine into a clunky mess. Furthermore, his Crit Synergy is the least valuable synergy in the game, as most classes easily reach their crit caps naturally.

  • Reaper (Reflux)

Reaper was once a feared burst assassin, but time has not been kind to her. Her core issue is that her personal defensive utility is abysmal. She relies entirely on dodging and spacebar mobility, which does not translate well to current raid mechanics that feature massive, unavoidable AoE damage. Additionally, her Damage Amp synergy requires her to be in close range to apply, which constantly puts her at risk. Her damage is middling, her survivability is the worst in the game, and her synergy is outclassed by Arcanist.

  • Scrapper (Taijutsu)

Taijutsu Scrapper is meant to be a heavy-hitting, stamina-focused brawler. However, the reality is a class that feels incredibly slow and punishing. Her skill animations are long, leaving her vulnerable to boss attacks. The recent balance patches that buffed other martial artists seemingly skipped Scrapper entirely. Her damage is noticeably lower than Striker and Wardancer, and she struggles to maintain uptime in fights that require constant repositioning. She needs a fundamental rework to escape this tier.

  • Soul Master (Persona)

Soul Master is the newest class, and while she brings excellent Stagger and synergy flexibility, her Persona engraving is heavily flawed. The mechanic of cycling through different elemental personas to buff specific skills sounds fun in theory but feels disjointed in practice. The setup time required to reach her damage windows is far too long compared to the instant gratification and higher payoff of S Tier classes like Sorceress or Arcanist. She is currently a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none.

How to Use This Tier List

Understanding this tier list requires context. Lost Ark is not a game where you must play S Tier to succeed. The difference between an S Tier and a C Tier class in a real raid environment often comes down to a few percent of overall DPS, which can easily be compensated for by having better engraving stats, understanding boss mechanics, or playing with a well-optimized Support.

When reading these rankings, consider your playstyle first. If you hate managing complex identity gauges, an S Tier Arcanist will feel like a C Tier to you because you will struggle to execute the rotation. Conversely, if you have terrible internet ping, a B Tier Scouter might actually perform better for you personally than an S Tier Striker, simply because you can actually land Scouter's skills without latency ruining your combos.

Furthermore, keep an eye on patch notes. Smilegate RPG is known for aggressive balance passes. A single patch can add a 15% damage multiplier to a C Tier class's core skills, instantly catapulting them into A or S Tier. Tier lists are a snapshot of the current meta, not a permanent law. Use this guide to understand the general landscape of Arkesia, optimize your raid compositions, and make informed decisions about which alts to invest in—but ultimately, the best class is the one whose combat flow you enjoy the most.
